Requirements for Print Data

Please observe the following requirements and guidelines for the creation and submission of print data to ensure smooth production of your printed products:

1. General Technical Requirements

• Recommended file format: PDF/X-4 (ISO 15930-7)
• Color mode: CMYK
• Standard color profile: PrintWide 2020™ (unless otherwise specified)
• Final format plus 5 mm bleed on all sides
• Image resolution: Minimum 150 dpi. Recommended: 300 dpi at scale 1:1. Vector data preferred.
• PDF: All fonts and images must be embedded.
• PDF without crop marks, page information or registration marks. Bleed must be included in the document.
• Die-cut contours must be defined in a spot color and set to overprint.
  
  

2. Open Print Data

• Accepted file formats: .indd, .ai, .psd, .eps
• All image files and fonts must be supplied completely in a separate folder
• For online shop orders, please provide closed print data (PDF). Open data may cause delays and additional costs. Please contact us in advance.
  
  

3. Submission of Print Data

For online shop orders:

Upload is possible after completion of the order: On the order confirmation page, in your customer account under “My Orders” and via the link in the order confirmation email.

For orders outside the online shop:

Please use a data transfer service (FTP) of your choice to submit your print data, e.g. WeTransfer.

4. Layout Templates

For online shop orders:

On the product pages, you will find layout templates under the “Downloads” tab which must be used without exception. Deviations from the layout templates may result in production delays.

For orders outside the online shop:

Your account manager will provide layout templates in PDF and EPS format which must be used without exception. Deviations from the layout templates may result in production delays.

5. Review and Approval of Your Print Data

For online shop orders:

Optionally, you can book a paid print data check. If you did not book the check with your initial order, you may order it separately afterwards. Please indicate in the checkout comment field for which order the print data check should be carried out.

The print data check covers technical aspects only (e.g. color mode, profile, resolution, bleed, die-cutting). It does not include proofreading, content review or design evaluation.

For orders outside the online shop:

As part of the project process, we review your print data for technical aspects (e.g. color mode, profile, resolution, bleed, die-cutting). It does not include proofreading, content review or design evaluation.

Upon request, we will be happy to provide you with a print sheet layout in PDF format for approval.
